DACA & TPS UPDATE

DACA UPDATE: Due to a federal court order, USCIS has resumed accepting requests to renew a grant of deferred action under DACA. Until further notice the DACA policy will be operated on the terms in place before it was rescinded on September 5, 2017.

USCIS is not accepting new initial requests from individuals who have never before been granted deferred action under DACA. USCIS will not accept applications for permission to travel (advance parole) from DACA recipients.

Individuals who were previously granted deferred action under DACA may request renewal due to the federal court order. We do not know when that order will change. If you have questions or want assistance with this DACA renewal, there is an accredited Immigration Office at the Sisters of St. Benedict in Ferdinand, Indiana. To reach them call or text (812) 639-1711 (Spanish and English) and (812) 463-2898 (English).

TPS UPDATE: The re-registration period for El Salvador is open from January 18, 2018 to March 19, 2018. This will renew your TPS and work Authorization until September 2019. Re-registration for Honduras is open December 15, 2017 until February 13, 2018. This will renew your TPS and work authorization until July 5, 2018.

All TPS holders are encouraged to apply as early as possible during the re-registration period.

For help with your TPS and Employment Permission contact the accredited Immigration office at the Sisters of St. Benedict Ferdinand, Indiana. To reach them call or text (812) 639-1711 (Spanish and English) and (812) 463-2898 (English).
